Sarah Durning started singing country music when she was introduced to artists like Kasey Chambers, Gillian Welch and Lucinda Williams. Sarah's music is inspired by the artists she has been covering for over 20 years with a smidge of rock, Broadway and even gospel mixed in. Sometimes serious, sometimes cheeky, not always about love (but often about love) her songs are catchy, uplifting, sad as hell, and downright sarcastic.
“Zach Bryan recently called Chasen Wayne “the only f*ck’n legend left in Texas.” Willie might have something to say about that. But Chasen Wayne is the guy who books Austin’s Sagebrush Honky Tonk, along with slinging out authentic honky tonk tunes like “No Stranger” when he can.” -Kyle “Trigger” Coroneos (Saving Country Music)

The 41 players is a group that was formed by John Deley in 2010 because of his love for the music and cultural heritage of New Orleans. The group got it's name from Pier 41 which is at the end of Dikeman Street in Red Hook, Brooklyn where John Deley lives, and where the 41 players had their first Monday night residency at the now gone and beloved bar “Bait and Tackle”.

“With heavy bluegrass and blues influence, a voice like Vince Gill, and writing like Billy Joe Shaver, Wilson is a cool drink of water for those thirsting for “real country music.” The country and blues singer-songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee picked up his first instrument at the age of 2, was leading worship in church by the age of 5, and was touring with his blues band (members of which have gone on to join the Tedeschi-Trucks Band and Marcus King) by his early 20s.” - Edward Sylvan for Medium

Buck And A Quarter Quartet, founded in 2014, performs the forgotten gems of the golden age of American popular music as a string band. They cover vintage pop, western swing, traditional jazz, tangos, and vintage-inspired originals, all in a category-defying style described as ‘skiffle meets Cole Porter’ and ‘what kind of music IS this?’. Buck And A Quarter has been playing for dancing and listening at venues all over New York City and the northeast. Line-up includes Brian Nalepka (gut-string bass and tuba), John Bianchi (clarinet and saxes), John “Sir Scratchy” Landry (violin), Mike Weatherly (plectrum banjo and gut-string bass), Chris Bannon (tenor guitar and banjo), Angus Loten (tenor guitar and banjo), and Ben Mealer (national steel ukulele and percussion).

Margo Valiante combines Alt-Country and Blues into a sound that is her own Americana. Raised in Wyoming with a long stint in Texas, she has been calling Brooklyn her home since 2010. She's most comfortable telling sad stories through dark, powerful vocals that would lead one to believe she was properly raised on Townes Van Zandt and Bonnie Raitt. Her affinity for the Telecaster is a good indication that she's not going to tiptoe around you.

Miss Tess is one of those singular artists who deserve all the superlatives and accolades one could hoist upon a rare talent such as hers. This unassuming chanteuse is, as they say in the business, a true “triple threat” – a superb songwriter and adept multi-instrumentalist with an extraordinary voice that can sing the birds from the trees. Her music takes root and draws from an era when country music, contrary to popular belief, was downright sophisticated, and filled with instrumentalists who were every bit as hip musically as their jazz counterparts – stretching back to a time when Western swing bands and jazz bands played a lot of the same material – albeit with a different accent, informed by their physical location. Location has a lot to do with the new Miss Tess album, the product of an on-going love affair with the culturally rich region of South Louisiana known as Acadiana, or more specifically, the magical little city of Lafayette. Each song on this new album has a special connection to the area, and Tess is eager to share this music with the world

On the release of his debut album, Peach Crate, Loughlin stepped out of the sideman role to prove that he is a formidable front man in his own right. Drawing upon the rich musical roots--the moods and memories--of his childhood days in Florida, Loughlin’s pays homage to many of his guitar heroes- players like Jimmy Bryant, Hank Garland, Danny Gatton and Les Paul--and to the days when the guitar reigned supreme on the airwaves.

Originally from rural Union City, PA, Xander started songwriting at age eighteen, sparked by his habit of scouring record shops for first the classics, then the hidden gems and vinyl obscurities which tell a more lonely and mysterious tale. A self-professed crate digger and amateur musical anthropologist, Xander dove off the deep end into country, folk, and rock—sounds all woven expertly into Three Waltzes. He also credits the local music scenes of Pittsburgh, Chicago, and now New York City, his home for the last decade, for pushing him to grow as a songwriter. This drive to ever improve eventually brought him success playing shows with Justin Townes Earle, Tyler Childers, Robbie Fulks, BJ Barham of American Aquarium, and Howe Gelb of Giant Sand.

NORTHEAST COUNTRY COALITION PRESENTS:
“Originals Only” featuring Olivia Ellen Lloyd, Wolf Van Elfmand & Red McAdam…
Olivia Ellen LLoyd is a West Virginia native and proud of it. Raised by a musician and a public school educator in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, her sound is a combination of her deeply rooted past and her fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants present. With resounding accolades of her debut album, Loose Cannon, Olivia Ellen Lloyd has been on a steady diet of writing, touring and honing her bandleading chops at every honky tonk from Nashville to New York.
Raised in Colorado, guitarist and songwriter Wolf van Elfmand creates with inspiration from a swath of American roots music. Since 2019 he’s released 5 records including Don’t Call It Country, which hit shelves on March 1st 2024. Wolf is undoubtedly a familiar-looking, archetypal figure from a version of the West, with musical DNA patchwork comprised of a 50s and 60s folk revival vocal vibrato plus round and sturdy fingerstyle guitar picking with hands trying to figure what a Rocky Mountain-raised, less acrobatic Chet Atkins might have sounded like. His work is a product of a good sense of humor, a good heart, and his ability to ignore the omnipresent whispers from life asking him to be still. Wolf has provided support for Pokey LaFarge, Willie Watson, Turnpike Troubadours, Charlie Parr, Karl Blau, Wayne Hancock, and many others. He has also performed at prominent roots festivals including Salmonfest (Alaska), The UMS (Denver), Midwest Music Fest (Wisconsin), and Brooklyn Folk Festival (New York).
Red McAdam was born in the industrial heart of New Jersey, but his mother Maggie made damn sure that he would be reared on folk and country music. She served up a steady diet of American songwriters from Karen Dalton to Shania Twain to Dwight Yoakam on the kitchen radio day after day. Red’s father, a lifelong bass player, took it from there, teaching him mandolin, banjo, bass, and guitar. Forever restless, Red ventured through dozens of genres before returning to his Country roots.

Ameripolitan-Award-winning, LARA HOPE & THE ARK-TONES return to Skinny Dennis with their new take on an old sound. “Grabbing from a wide array of country music influences and regional dialects, and splicing them all together seamlessly with some 70’s coolness, Tennessee native Mose Wilson has just dropped this infectious and entertaining self-titled debut album that will slide right into your preferred listening rotation and be stubborn in making its way out….It all comes together for one of those albums that immediately reels you in, and includes something for everyone. It has a couple of slow country heartbreakers in “Blue” and “This Time It’s You,” which include a hint of early Eagles in them as well. It has a couple of downright bluegrass songs in “Cornered” and “She Don’t Live Here No More.” It has a couple of chicken pickin’ heaters in “I Don’t Need You” and “Tennessee Rag.” It has blues, and a little bit of rock. What it doesn’t have is a dull moment.”- Saving Country Music

“Originals Only” featuring Rebecca Porter, Nolan Lunsford, And Ricky Stein…
Rebecca Porter is a singer-songwriter born in Guam and raised in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, who has forged her way in country music with songs that are heartfelt and honest. Through a decade’s worth of live performance with Harrisonburg-Rockingham County area musicians, Porter learned the ropes of life as a performing and recording artist. Porter balances her distinctive storytelling with the dynamics of her commanding voice in a unique display of soulful classic country.
Nolan Lunsford is pushing the lyrical form of country music while still holding onto many of its hallmark sounds; crying pedal steel, bluegrass harmonies and big cowboy chord acoustic guitars. Nolan’s songwriting aims to get at the heart of the matter, bypassing country cliches for a more specific story.
Ricky Stein’s music vies for equal footing between two of his strongest influences: traditional roots-rock/Americana and progressive indie-rock. A reverence for music history combined with the desire to create something different and new drives the Austin-born, NYC-based singer/songwriter to make music that reflects the spirit of his hometown, both past and present.
SANFORD: is the brainchild of Brooklyn based & South Carolina born musician Jay Sanford. Felix Slim is one of the finest exponents of blues working today. His magnetic stage persona combined with his extraordinary guitar and harmonica playing are second to none.
With a diverse range of instruments including banjo, fiddle and mandolin, Sour Bridges infuse their music with a sense of nostalgia and toe-tapping rhythm. Known for their signature “browngrass”
blend of country, rock and bluegrass, this new project features those stylistic leanings along with soulful, emotive harmonies; sprawling arrangements and a knack for interspersing satire with clever songcraft. Check out the new video for the title track here. ‘Down And Out’ is available now on all streaming platforms.
Sour Bridges have built a reputation for their propulsive live performances and have shared the stage with Band Of Horses, Asleep At The Wheel, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Jason Boland And the Stragglers and many more. They’ve also been regulars on the festival circuit including SXSW, Big Cabo Fest, Viva Big Bend Festival and Musikfest.
Formed in 2010, the genesis of Sour Bridges actually starts in the Pocono Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania. That’s where Long Island-born Pucci and his brother, Matt (lead guitar, mandolin, vocals), were raised and taught themselves to play music. After moving to Austin in 2007, they immediately found a community of like-minded talents eventually leading to their current incarnation which includes Will Vaughan on bass and vocals and Marc Randal Henry on drums and percussion.

Nashville’s psychedelic punk-grass rockers, Sicard Hollow, grew up sick of any existing
institution telling them who and what to be. Now, as they navigate adulthood, they’re
equally tired of the music institutions telling them what their music should sound like—
so they dunked it in patchouli and a skate-and-destroy ethos that brings an enduring
sound into the modern age.
