LONESOME JOY w/ ADAM AMRAM FAMILY BAND

Americana with a backbeat. Modern-day piano-rock with classic songwriting. Music for today's world, inspired by timeless artists like Harry Nilsson, Paul Simon, and the Beatles... That's the sound of Lonesome Joy, the latest project from piano-pounding frontman Stevie Redstone. After launching a critically acclaimed career under his own name, Redstone found himself moving cross-country, chasing down new horizons in Nashville. He'd been coming to the city for years, making short trips to play gigs and write songs. Resettling in Nashville felt different, though. Redstone quickly became a vibrant part of a new community of writers, singers, and instrumentalists, building buzz by playing blistering live sets at clubs and local festivals. With his new home came a new aesthetic, and Redstone gave this creative evolution a name — Lonesome Joy — before teaming up with eight-time Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb to record the album that would kickstart his next era as an artist. They worked fast, capturing each song in a series of live-in-the-studio takes that highlighted the instincts and chemistry of Dave’s long-time A-list studio band. Cobb worked his “no pre-production, capture lighting in a bottle” magic, and 10 days later, Lonesome Joy's debut album was finished. The self-titled LP is a genre-bender that showcases Redstone’s versatile vocal ability and his songwriting, nodding to the craftsmen who came before him while still exploring new territory. That exploration continues onstage, where Lonesome Joy's songs are cracked open and expanded, with Redstone leading his band through extended versions of the album's compact, hook-filled tracks. For the songwriter, it's all about charting new ground. He's still the driving force, but the vehicle has changed... and for Lonesome Joy, it's full steam ahead.
